Job Description : Pricing Lead
The Pricing Lead reports to the Director, Business Development, and is primarily responsible for developing, implementing and managing pricing strategies for the company’s wide range of services and products. The Pricing Lead sets and maintains pricing models that enhance profitability and ensures pricing adheres to legal and ethical standards. The role is based in the Shared Services office in Sandton, Johannesburg, with responsibility and occasional travel to operational sites and client locations.
Key responsibilities
Conduct market research to determine pricing for tenders, new products and services based on cost, customer demand, and competitor pricing.
Develop pricing guidelines and policies aligned with company objectives.
Use price elasticity modelling to optimize pricing and margins for specific customer segments.
Analyse pricing metrics, sales data, and profit margins to assess effectiveness of pricing strategies.
Adjust prices in response to market conditions, costs, supply/demand changes and other factors.
Develop value-based pricing strategies for premium products and services.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure pricing strategies supporting sales, revenue and company growth objectives.
Create pricing documentation such as proposals, discount schedules and negotiated contracts.
Stay current on industry trends, legislation and competitor’s pricing to inform pricing decisions.
Present pricing recommendations to HOD’s and Directors with justification.
Education & Skills
Relevant Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, logistics or supply chain management.
8 years’ successful track record in a similar pricing analysis and strategy roles
Extensive Project experience (including global or Sub-Saharan client experience)
Experience working with multi-national/large clients in construction ideally
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Proficient in financial modelling, data analysis, and pricing software
Works well independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:20 AM – 4:20 PM, and Alternate Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
