Job description:
The Senior Content Writer will play a pivotal role in supporting the PSG Wealth marketing team by producing high-quality, compliant, and engaging content across a broad range of financial and operational communication needs. This role is critical in helping the business meet the growing demand for content to support integrated marketing campaigns, adviser and investor communication, product education, and internal strategic initiatives. The writer will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including marketing, investment professionals, product owners, and business analysts, to translate complex financial concepts into clear and compelling communication. The role also supports operational capacity for communication projects across the business. The candidate will be an active and participative member of the marketing team and may be required to work irregular hours and deal with the pressure associated with meeting deadlines and managing a small team of junior investment writers.
Responsibilities:
Content generation, editing and copywriting in English and Afrikaans.
Proofreading and editing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly communications
Lead content creation and editing across multiple formats (email, web, social media, brochures, investor communication, and internal notices)
Translate complex financial and operational topics into engaging, plain-language copy that meets compliance and brand standards
Support the execution of campaign content, collaborating with marketing managers and business stakeholders
Generate and manage strategic adviser- and client-facing content for new product launches, platform updates, and educational initiatives
Draft and edit thought leadership pieces, commentary, and insights in collaboration with investment professionals
Collaborate with business units to develop and deliver project-related communication on key business priorities
Proofread and refine content across all platforms to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with PSG tone and voice
Assist with internal communication strategies and content delivery, supporting the needs of cross-functional teams
Assist in project management of communications from brief to distribution.
Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g. Umbraco or similar), email distribution tools (e.g. SendGrid), and social media publishing
Basic understanding of HTML for formatting and publishing digital content
Ability to work with digital teams to translate copy requirements into multimedia or interactive formats
Strong project coordination abilities and deadline management skills
Monitor competitor content and propose enhancements to PSG's content approach
Participate in quarterly content planning and support the marketing team with execution against deadlines
Support the onboarding and mentoring of junior writers, where applicable.
Competencies:
Exceptional writing and editing skills in English (Afrikaans advantageous)
Ability to simplify complex financial, investment, and operational topics for different audiences
Strong attention to detail and consistency in tone and message
A team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
Able to balance multiple priorities and manage time independently
Deep curiosity and a proactive attitude to problem-solving and innovation
Strategic understanding of content’s role in marketing and brand building
Sound judgment in communicating sensitive or regulatory content
Minimum requirements:
Bcom Degree (Marketing related qualification, Financial Journalism qualification or similar)
A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role with a passion for writing and creating content in various formats.
An understanding and passion for investing, macroeconomics and geopolitics would is required.
Familiarity with financial markets, investment products, or operational communications advantageous
Strong digital literacy, including MS Office, with infographic, video or audio content creation experience an advantage
Proven ability to conduct independent research and turn insights into impactful messaging
Basic html knowledge advantageous
