Job Purpose

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to render a receptionist service for Region 1.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Recommendation

Appropriate administrative experience; Reception experience.



Key Performance Areas

Receive telephonic calls, messages and channel to relevant role players; Welcome, receive and direct clients to relevant units; Provide relevant information as required; Operate office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers; Liaise with internal and external personal; Operate the 2-way radio; Printing and distribution of telephone bills (internal).

Competencies

Basic computer literacy; Good people skills; High level of reliability; Telephone etiquette; Manage boardroom bookings; Operate photocopier/fax machines and 2-way radio; Flexibility; Typing skills; Planning and organising; Numeracy; Good verbal and written communication skills; Ability to function under pressure.

Remuneration

R 193 359 - R 227 766 per annum (Salary Level 4)

Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
