POSITION OVERVIEW
Based at our Johannesburg HQ, in oder to further strengthen our local operations and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our production facilities, we are currently seeking a:
MANUFACTURING MAINTENANCE MANAGER ( Johannesburg, South Africa )
Reporting directly to the OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE , the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:

  • E nsuring the long-term operational safety and maintainability of our Manufacturing facilities with a mission is to actively and measurably reduce production costs by driving efficiencies in both work processes and capital projects

  • Overseeing SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment), Quality, Service, Cost, and People within the maintenance department. Leadership in implementing continuous improvement programs crucial for achieving Operational Excellence.


KEY ACCOUNTABLES

  • Oversee the maintenance of plant, buildings, and services to minimise downtime and stay within budget. Blending, Boiler, Ventilation, Dust extraction, Refrigeration, Watse management Solid and Liquid, Facility electrical system, Pneumatics

  • Lead and develop a proactive maintenance schedule and ensure all service records are completed and up to date.

  • Champion Health & Safety across the department, driving continuous improvement.

  • Manage daily checks and maintenance of our equipment.

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs and ensure your team is equipped to diagnose and resolve faults effectively.

  • Diagnose and resolve automation issues, this will require working knowledge of PLCs , SCADA and HMI systems

  • Respond swiftly to operational challenges and support your team in delivering solutions.

  • Align the maintenance strategy with production, logistics, and safety requirements.

  • Monitor and share KPIs to drive performance and improvements.

  • Manage engineering budgets responsibly and collaborate with Finance and Operations teams.

  • Lead the factorys capital expenditure (Capex) programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.



PROFILE

  • Trade Qualification as an Artisan or Millwright with proven leadership in Engineering or Maintenance Management within food manufacturing

  • A Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a proven track record of Food Industry Experience will be an advantage

  • At least 7 years of experience in food manufacturing, including 3 years in a managerial role

  • GCC Factories, would be advantageous

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Have strong proficiency in data processing tools like Syspro, Excel and SharePoint

  • Be knowledgeable in preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, as well as autonomous maintenance principles

  • Have a strong working knowledge of PLC systems

  • Thrive under pressure
