Our organisation is looking for a Finance Business Partner to act as a strategic financial advisor and analyst for assigned business areas, providing in-depth financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support business leaders in making informed decisions and driving financial performance and profitability. The role also includes oversight of the financial accounting function to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
Lead the compilation of annual budgets and forecasts for specific business units, collaborating directly with business leaders.
Forecasting and Performance Analysis:
Independently prepare and submit comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy and accountability across the business.
Financial Insight and Strategic Reporting:
Develop and present robust financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to business unit leaders, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable business recommendations.
Business Partnering and Stakeholder Liaison:
Serve as the primary financial contact and trusted advisor for assigned business units, addressing financial issues and queries proactively.
Commercial Input:
Review commercial terms within project proposals and contracts, identifying any clauses that could negatively impact profitability or expose the business to undue financial risk. This includes advising on payment terms, penalty clauses, and scope creep implications.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and assess financial risks within assigned business areas, highlighting potential impacts (e.g., dissolution, notice periods, bad debts).
Teamwork and Self-management:
Provide financial oversight, guidance and direction to direct reports, as well as continuous coaching and feedback as required.
What are we looking for?
To qualify for this role, you should have:
4-5 year’s experience, BCom Accounting degree at NQF level 7 or equivalent.
Post-graduate qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, MBA). Audit experience an advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong Financial acumen
Commercial acumen
Advanced Analytical and critical thinking skills
High level of Computer literacy (advanced Excel, financial modeling, ERP systems)
Solid Organisational awareness and business understanding
Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
