Job Description

To safely and efficiently manage the receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of explosive materials within the magazines, ensuring compliance with regulatory & safety requirements

Required outputs: functional

  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate and manage warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of explosive materials.

  • Maintain effective inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking and control of explosive materials

  • Budget control for field magazines/ depot

  • Quality management (on time, in full)

  • Stock control and stock management

  • Inventory Management & accuracy

  • Infrastructure maintenance reporting

  • People management and development

  • Supervise and develop warehouse personnel to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and security

  • Support continual business improvement and change management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives

  • Adhere to legislative requirement

  • Comply with Safety, Health, Environment and legislative requirement

Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric

  • Diploma in Supply Chain

  • At least 2 years experience in managing a depot/ field magazines within explosives

  • A Magazine Master certificate will be an advantage

  • Explosives background and regulatory requirements strongly preferred

  • Exposure to Supply chain processes stock management

  • SAP knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of the Safety & Health process

  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to write reports
