Would you like to be part of a value-driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? We have an opportunity for a Customer Experience (CX) Continuous Improvement Consultant to join our Maersk Southern Africa & Islands (SAI) CX team in South Africa.
Our vision is to build an enterprise-wide continuous improvement culture – building Operational Excellence into the organization; coaching and leading on improvement projects; providing specialist improvement consultant services; and managing the improvement pipeline. Enabling growth in supply chain management is a key component of our Maersk integrator strategy and this role will have specific focus on this product family. Success in this role will be recognised by improving productivity, eliminating waste, delivering first time quality and value for our customers and ultimately enabling growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Management – coach in Standard Work, Performance Management and Visual Management – coach and support in running the business
Improvement Management – lead coach and facilitate improvement projects applying LEAN, DMAIC/6 sigma methodologies
Provide specialist improvement consultant services: data mining, application of AI and automation techniques to simplify and standardize processes
Self-starter and highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-moving international logistics environment.
Effective communication skill and interpersonal skill be able to build good working relationship (internal and external) at all levels of the organisation – from boardroom to shop floor
Organisational and Time management skills: multi-tasking and prioritising, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high-level goals
Capacity to handle change, stay open to different ideas, support positive changes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Performance management - understanding of key result & KPI outcomes
Project management skills - Lean & Agile understanding
Results driven – Drives results and success, conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure, persists despite obstacles and opposition
Identify areas for improvement in service delivery (cost / data quality / productivity / customer requirements) based on ‘Voice of Customer’ feedback /proactive analysis of operational efficiency /effectiveness.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Someone with:
Relevant bachelor’s or post graduate degree in Supply Chain / Logistics or Business Administration
Preferred industry experience: Supply Chain and Logstics or a similar experience working in a multi-national matrix organization
Highly skilled in Lean and 6 Sigma – with a proven track record of application and delivery
Highly numerate and data analyst/science experience is an advantage
Certification/courses in Project management (preferred)
Technical knowledge required for Advance excel, VBA, Power Automate and Cloud
Experienced project manager or similar experience working in a global business environment
Skilled communicator and change agent - ability collaborate cross functionally and build effective coalitions to drive positive change.
Ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization – from shop floor to senior leadership
Able to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Capacity to handle change, stay open to different ideas and support positive change
Understand work in an agile manner, highly analytical / problem-solving skills
