As a Cash Management Product Manager Payments Vice President in the part of the CEEMEA Country Product Management team, you will be responsible for supporting the firms strategy, product capability and development in South Africa as well as more broadly in the Sub Sahara region. Roll out and seamless implementation of the TS services that J.P. Morgan delivers to clients locally. In addition, you will need to ensure the strategy is built for purpose, in accordance with local market practice, regulatory landscape and product requirements. The role includes extensive collaboration with multiple internal stakeholder groups e.g. Functional Product Managers, Sales, Operations, Client Service, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Legal.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute TS product strategy through end-to-end understanding of how the South Africa market works and how payment products are used by clients in the region

  • Create compelling business cases with detailed analysis of the market, payment landscape, revenue opportunities and proposed solutions

  • Develop and deliver short, medium and long-term strategy in line with the defined strategy of functional product managers, ie. Core cash, Liquidity, Access, FX, etc

  • Manage and coach Product manager associate with direct reporting line

  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Technology and Implementations team to identify, develop and implement products

  • Develop commercialization and communication plans for new solutions

  • Through creative thinking, leverage partner solutions, Fintechs and innovation, grow capabilities and footprint in the region

  • Understand local legislation impacting TS products and ensure they are taken into consideration as part of the strategy

  • Represent J.P. Morgan at local industry meetings and forums where appropriate

  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the country and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities

  • Strong control over financial planning and development of a detailed revenue plan whilst driving down cost base and understand the risks inherent in the country and drive programs to reduce them

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Experience in building and delivering payment or growth strategy for a financial institution

  • Experience in TS/Corporate banking products (Payables & Receivables, Liquidity, Client channels, Customs Cards etc.)

  • Demonstrate understanding of the South African payment landscape

  • Demonstrate ability for strategic thinking and influencing at all levels

  • Intellectually curious with constant improvement mindset and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly build strong partnerships, credibility and influence with technology, functional partners, and senior management

  • Experience in managing and motivating teams from a diverse backgrounds and seniority

  • Commercially minded individual with creative problem solving, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions

  • Strong presentation and communication skills both with clients and internal partners

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Experience in working with vendors and Fintechs is a plus
