Position Overview
As a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist, your primary goal is to source and acquire high-quality vehicles while ensuring a seamless customer experience. A professional attitude; passionate about cars and who knows what they are doing when buying them. The role requires you to ensure a measurable, consistent and high-quality pipeline/throughput of purchased vehicles. You will need to be able to work effectively in a team, but a large portion of your role will be done autonomously.
The role is supported by proprietary systems, workflows and support staff but you are ultimately responsible for the volume, quality and accuracy of the vehicles you purchase. You are able to meticulously follow processes whilst applying sound judgment and are experienced in the inspection, background confirmation, administration, filing and documentation processes associated with vehicle acquisition. You must be able to inspect and test-drive a vehicle for cosmetic and mechanical condition and assess what reconditioning is required. You need to be able to apply judgement when issues are encountered.
Your organization and attention to detail skills in a high throughput role are unparalleled. You are a key driver in our business and want to grow personally and a desire for “zero error” is a necessity. You understand your role has a significant impact to the business and its staff and that acquisition of crash and/or mechanically unsound vehicles is unacceptable.
You will need good communication skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work with customers and provide a high quality of service all of the time.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Engage with Customers Daily (via phone, email, and in-person) to assess vehicle suitability for purchase.
Conduct Vehicle Inspections to evaluate cosmetic and mechanical condition and determine reconditioning requirements.
Negotiate and Finalize Offers with sellers while maintaining the integrity of our brand standards.
Ensure Compliance with Brand Requirements, ensuring vehicles meet quality and performance standards.
Maintain Meticulous Documentation for each transaction, including contracts and validation processes.
Identify & Mitigate Risks, flagging and declining transactions that pose a potential liability.
Collaborate with Internal Teams (Logistics, Sales, and Operations) to ensure smooth acquisition processes
Achieve target numbers that meet vehicle quality expectations
Vehicles purchased:
Are not Stolen
Are not Accident Damaged
Are free of material defect or defects are accurately flagged and priced for validation/reconditioning
Are free of any aftermarket mechanical/software modifications
Are accurately represented in terms of year, make, model, mileage, colour and condition
Inspected and accurately appraised and priced for reconditioning to brand requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 plus a minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role
Meticulous nature, extreme attention to detail
“Zero error” personality
Excellent negotiation skills (overcome objections)
Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent Admin and Digital/Computer technical skills
Valid Driver’s license (code 08)
English spoken and written
